Drowning Prevention and the RLSS

Drowning Prevention week is a national campaign aimed to educate people on water safety. Run by the Royal life Saving Society UK, there aim is to reduce incidents of drowning throughout this campaign they are offering expert advice with educational materials such as leaflets and posters, interactive games and apps as well as educational films explaining the S.A.F.E code.

Erewash Borough Council, as part of drowning prevention week, organized a life guard training procedure during a public swimming session to help not only train their life guards to a high standard but to also let the public have an insight into how the RLSS train the lifeguards.

The RLSS have high ambitions but are well on their way to achieving them with the educational material they are putting out.

You can still get involved and download material to help educate not only yourselves but material specifically to target children to keep them safe.

The RLSS aim to help people and make sure they are safe, it was a pleasure working with them during our recent project and look forward to hopefully work with them on future projects, keep your eyes peeled for future posts of behind the scenes.
